How Council Chat works
Council Chat turns the panel into a conversation. Instead of a single one-shot question, you can go back and forth — ask something, read the panel's answer, then follow up — and each new message convenes a fresh council that remembers everything said so far. It feels like a normal chat, except every reply is the product of several models comparing notes rather than one model talking.
We keep the chat council small and fast on purpose, so a follow-up doesn't leave you waiting. Your earlier questions and the panel's earlier answers are fed back in as context, which means you can refine, challenge, or change direction without repeating yourself.
How to use it, step by step
- 1Open the Chat tab. You'll land on an empty conversation with a message box in the middle and, if you've run councils before, your model standings underneath.
- 2Send your first message. Type a question and press Enter. A quick three-model council runs and returns a combined answer, usually within a few seconds.
- 3Ask a follow-up. Reply as you would in any chat. The panel keeps the full thread as context, so 'what about the cheaper option?' just works.
- 4Open the full council. Any answer links through to its complete session — the individual model answers, the peer-review scores and the reasoning behind the synthesis.
- 5Start fresh when you switch topics. Hit 'New chat' to begin a clean conversation without the previous context bleeding in.
A worked example
“Explain the trade-offs between renting and buying a home in a high-interest-rate market — then: what changes if I only plan to stay three years?”
The first council lays out the classic trade-offs and leans slightly towards renting while rates are high.
Your follow-up — “what if I only stay three years?” — is answered by a new council that already knows the earlier context. It sharpens the advice: at a three-year horizon, transaction costs usually tip the balance firmly towards renting, and the panel explains why with a short break-even sketch.
